Adam Kootman, M.A., AMFT
Adam Kootman, MA, is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist offering emotionally attuned, attachment-based support. He helps individuals and couples slow things down, make sense of patterns, and move toward more secure, connected ways of living.
Before entering the mental health field, Adam worked as a composer and creative professional. That experience gives him firsthand insight into the challenges of creativity, uncertainty, reinvention, and the pressure to perform.
He offers in-person sessions in Beverly Hills, CA, and virtual sessions throughout California.
Adam is a co-parent and proud father to a daughter. Outside the therapy room, they’re usually hiking, climbing, or exploring together. He brings that same sense of curiosity and presence into his work.

I take an attachment-based, emotionally focused approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that our patterns make sense in the context of our relationships and lived experiences. My work is influenced by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), with additional roots in psychodynamic and depth-oriented traditions.
I help clients understand the patterns they find themselves in, regulate overwhelming emotional experiences, and move toward more secure, connected ways of relating to themselves and others. My approach is collaborative, experiential, and tailored to each person, with an emphasis on insight, emotional processing, and meaningful change.
